How to Replace the Barrel in an Airsoft Pistol

Barrel Lockdown Kit Installation Instructions

These instructions show an M4/M16 hop up unit, but the method is the same for all hop upward units which can accept the Barrel Lockdown Kit. Not all airsoft guns need/are uniform with one or more parts of the Barrel Lockdown kit. Please bank check your gun carefully earlier purchasing to ensure compatability.

Step i

• Remove the butt group from the gun, leaving the hop up unit installed on the barrel.

• Remove the brass ring from within the font of the hop up unit. Keep it as a spare part for AEGs which do not have Barrel Lockdown Kits installed.
• Remove the spring from the front of the hop up unit of measurement. Again, keep it equally a spare. You'll give thanks yourself next fourth dimension a bound pings off into oblivion.

Step three - Install the EHSR

• Gently slide the Enhanced Hop Stabilisation Band over the stop of the barrel, with the thinner side facing the hop upwardly unit.
• Squeezing it slightly to make it narrower, insert the thin side of the EHSR into the front of the hop up unit. Exercise not forcefulness it! A gentle twisting move is best.
• While holding the butt steady, gently wiggle the hop up unit to see if in that location is any free movment. The barrel will still be able to twist within the hop upwardly unit, simply it should not tilt.
• If the hop up unit and barrel tin can move independantly, push the EHSR into the hop upwards unit a picayune bit further. Again, do non strength it.
• Check again for free play between the hop up unit and butt, and tighten the EHSR until there is no movement between the hop up unit of measurement and butt.

Step 4 - Install the O-Band

• Before installing the O-ring, you must make a test fit: Replace the barrel group and then replace the lower receiver, including whatsoever locking pins/screws.
• Bank check to run across if the hop upwardly unit can move at all. It should be pressed firmly against the front of the gearbox. Any movement must exist eliminated.
• If you cannot fully reassemble your gun, the EHSR needs to be trimmed. Accept a sharp pocketknife and cut off the excess plastic of the EHSR protruding from the hop up unit.
• Remove the barrel group again and slide one of the O-rings over the end of the barrel, pushing it up against the EHSR.
• Re-gather your gun and cheque over again for movement. If there is none, you are done with this step. Ideally should have to push the lower receiver on with a picayune (not too much) force.
• If in that location is nonetheless movement, keep calculation O-rings until the hop upwardly unit is pressing firmly against the front of the gearbox. The Butt Lockdown kit is supplied with 3 O-rings which should be more than than plenty for 99% of AEGs.

Step 5 - Install the Barrel Shim

• Remove the flash hider or silencer fron the forepart of your gun.
• GENTLY insert the thin end of the Barrel Shim between the inner and outer barrels, with the curved side touching the inner barrel, and the Barrel Shim at the top of the inner butt.
• Once you are happy with the position of the Barrel Shim, button it in but hard plenty to proceed information technology in identify. DO Non push it in as hard every bit possible! The Barrel Shim can crack if mishandled.
• Supercede the wink hider or silencer. You may demand to trim some of the excess plastic from the Barrel Shim protruding from the front of the barrel. If possible, leave some textile to concur on to when removing the Barrel Shim.
• When removing the barrel shim, practise so very carefully. The fabric is brittle and tin crevice unless you are gentle. A gentle side to side movement helps remove the Barrel Shim without damaging it. Another manner is to simply remove the barrel group from the gun while the Barrel Shim in yet installed, assuasive it to fall out of the front of the barrel. Be careful not to lose it if you use this method.
